Strategic Planning

A strategic plan was created entitled Action plan to increase youth success and decrease dropouts in Eastern Townships schools 2006-2016

Six priority areas of intervention came to light from this plan, by which the actions of the Projet PRÉE will be guided.

The TECIÉ and the Projet PRÉE teams establish an annual action plan, identifying priorities, as well as projects to accomplish or to sustain during the year.

2011-2016 Action Plan and targets for 2011-2016

After extensive consultation and evaluation of the actions undertaken by the Projet PRÉE and its Estrie partners between 2006 and 2011, a broad series of actions emerged:

  • Continue to follow the 2006-2011 Action Plan
  • Continued support and the establishment of closer links with local initiatives
  • Target the actions

2011-2016 Targets

  • Target 1:  A decrease of 4 percentage points in the three year average rate for youth in the public sector who leave high school without a diploma or qualification going 25.5% to 21.5%.
  • Target 2:  A decrease of 5 percentage points in the three year average rate for boys in the public sector who leave high school without a diploma or qualification going 32.2% to 27.2%.
  • Target 3:  A decrease of 3 percentage points in the three year average rate for girls in the public sector who leave high school without a diploma or qualification going 18.6% to 15.6%.
  • Target 4:  Increase of 9.5 percentage points in the qualification and graduation rate after seven years for the public sector, going from a rate of 67.5% to 77%.

The data for these four targets applies to all of Estrie. Particular attention will be paid to the rate of graduations and qualification after 5 years.

As a whole, this data will serve as additional information for the development of ministerial indicators. Expectations will also be expressed to the private sector, thereby facilitating the achievement of the desired regional outcomes.

2006-2011 Mobilisation and Action Plan

The action plan outlines the measures that were taken between 2006 and 2011 to promote the successes of a greater number of young Estriens and to fight against school dropout.

Said plan is the result of numerous consultations that lasted more than a year. All participants, challenged by the task, gave their all in the form of time and effort.

The actions that arose are to a large degree saturated with the work of many educational researchers and are deeply rooted in the belief of each of the member organisations of the Table estrienne de concertation interordres en éducation (TECIÉ) and members of the Action Plan Committee that, together, we can effect change.
