Hang in there! campaign

The end of the school year is a critical period for students. Soon, they will begin their exam period, a busy time that could not be any more stressful and demanding for them… Like in a final sprint, a little encouragement can make all the difference. Made possible thanks to the financial support of the Government of Québec, the Hang in there! campaign is designed to be an incentive to continue, to hang tough and to hang in there.

As spring is a time in which students have a higher tendency to dropout, the Projet PRÉE is launching a campaign addressed directly to students in order to encourage them to successfully complete their school year.

Since 2013, the Don’t give up! campaign was launched every year in late April with the intention of convincing young people that persevering and continuing their studies until they obtain a diploma or a qualification is the right decision to make.

In 2018, the campaign has been revamped and is now the Hang in there! campaign.

While this new campaign has the same goal, a new message and a new more modern look have been developed to further engage young people.

 Communication objectives

  • Encourage young people to complete their school year with as many successfully passed classes as possible.
  • Inform youth about the advantages of getting their diploma.

  • Incite parents to support and encourage their youth to continue their efforts between now and the end of the school year.

  • Issue a unified message to the general population on the benefits of getting a diploma

Target audience

The Hang in there! campaign targets young people between the ages of 14 and 21 years old, attending a high school, a vocational training center, an adult education or a college institution and living in the Estrie region.

Key strategies

The Hang in there! campaign relies primarily on a social media strategy (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). The two main message of the campaign: “You’re almost there…Hang in there!” and “Your success, your choice. Build yourself a better future!” are present on the various communication tools developed.
