The Table estrienne de concertation interordres en éducation (TECIÉ) was put in place due to a concertation desire among the different partners from the education section and other sectors concern about the educational success of the youth from the Estrie region.
As part of this structure, decision makers from school boards, CEGEPs, universities and the Ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport are invited to join regional and economic development organizations in discussing educational development priorities with a view to standardizing and integrating them into the economic, cultural and social levels in the Estrie region.
The TECIÉ has several mandates. One of these is the academic success of the region's young people. To achieve this mandate, the TECIÉ created the “Projet PRÉEE,” which includes a mobilization component that brings together key players to focus on academic success and an intervention component led by the coordinator and a permanent team. This team is made up of four local intervention professionnals connected to the four school boards in the Estrie region and an office agent.
The Projet PRÉE has its own dynamic, fuelled by the coordinator, the permanent team, and the mobilization committee. The structure also allows for the addition of ad hoc committees on specific topics.
