To inform their discussions during the evening, representatives from municipalities (mayors, councillors, and directors general) were paired with representatives from Estrie school boards (chairs, commissioners, directors general and school administrators, governing board chairs) and PRÉE Project members. Municipal and educational delegates discussed a mobilization process to support the educational perseverance and success of youth from their communities. The goals of the evening were to:


◊ Raise awareness among elected officials of the school dropout issue in Estrie

◊ Develop actions in the various Estrie communities
 
Regional Symposium April 23th 2007 "Pour la réussite des jeunes: Prévenir-Encourager-Soutenir" (in French only)


On April 23, 2007, a regional symposium “Pour la réussite des jeunes: PRÉVENIR – ENCOURAGER – SOUTENIR,” organized by Partners for Educational Success Estrie (PRÉE), was held at the Delta Hotel in Sherbrooke. This activity brought together close to 300 people from various fields, including all levels of education (administrators, teachers, professionals, and students), government departments, parents, youth organizations, health and social services, daycare centres (CPEs), businesses, and organizations from the socio-economic sector.
