One of the Projet PRÉE priorities over the past few years has been to meet the needs and expectations of MRCs in terms of educational success. In January 2008, a working committee was created that was composed of municipal elected officials and people concerned with educational success. The committee's mandate was to take into consideration not only the needs and expectations of elected officials, but also the potential contributions that would support regional mobilization.
With this in mind, a variety of tools were designed with the following objectives:
• Enhance knowledge in a variety of milieus regarding the dropout situation in Estrie and the reasons to get involved;
• Propose a mobilization process for communities in terms of student retention and educational success;
• Guide elected officials and community leaders in terms of actions that will have an impact on qualification and graduation rates in their territory;
• Promote the development of a community in terms of the human, social, cultural and economic aspects.
