Recognition of the value of maximum attendance in class
In cooperation with the Agence de la santé et des services sociaux de l'Estrie (ASSSE), the Projet PRÉE implemented an awareness campaign on maximum class attendance and invited close to 700 health care professionals in the Estrie region to participate.

Promotional tools provide a reminder that regularly attending class is a basic condition of educational success.

Each year, close to 250 doctors, dentists and optometrists receive a copy of the regional school calendar that features all school holidays for public and private elementary and high schools in the Estrie region. With this tool, these professionals can easily offer their young patients appointments based on their school holidays, regardless of where they live.

These health care professionals are also invited to help demonstrate the importance of educational success and show support for this cause by placing posters in their waiting rooms. This poster is a reminder that one of the first conditions of educational success is attending class and that the health care professionals are doing their part by making it a priority to offer appointments during school holidays.

Parents with students in any of the four school boards and in private schools in the Estrie region also participate in this awareness campaign. All parents have received a flyer inviting them to make health care appointments for their child or children during school holidays. The back of the flyer includes space to mark down the dates.

For the 2010-2011 campaign, the Projet PRÉE developped a poster to target the older students from the adult education sector, vocational training education sector and college.

Together, we can make a difference!
